Songs by Emoji

Identify each song by a string of emojis. These songs span many generations, from 1720 to present, and many genres - but they are reasonably well known, i.e. they made the radio. I'm not pulling out ridiculously deep cuts.

Emojis must come from the unicode set - no custom built emojis allowed. Nor can we use ascii, or other accented letters that would simply spell out the song.

Most of the time the emojis represent the title of the song. Example: ๐Ÿฅต๐ŸŒŠ, Heat Wave, which could be Martha and the Vandellas, or, if you are a generation above, perhaps Irving Berlin, 1933. Rarely, the emojis might represent a signature line within the song. Example: ๐Ÿฅต๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿน๐Ÿฅต๐ŸŒŠ, heat wave, a tropical heat wave, and that has to be Heat Wave by Irving Berlin.

Click on the microphone for a hint - the group or singer that is often associated with the song. This is at my discretion; some songs have been covered many times. Then click on the key for the answer. This is a spoiler of course. Try to figure it out first before you click.

Through the use of cookies, I will remember the state of the game. Log out, and log in again, and you should see the songs with their hints and answers as you left them. You can clear this information if you wish using a button at the bottom.

There are 750 songs in our library, from 450 artists, and comprising 550 distinct emojis. Plowing through all of them in one go is tempting, but that would spoil the fun. Therefore, I will show you the songs of the week, that is, the songs for today and the next 6 days. You won't see any repeats for two years - longer if I add to this library.
